Mary Margaret, a native of Ozark, was born and raised in the Wiregrass region of Alabama. She joined Fine Geddie in 2013. Mary Margaret attended the University of Alabama for both undergraduate and law school, during which time she was elected Student Government Association President and served as the student trustee for the University of Alabama System Board of Trustees. She interned for United States Senator Jeff Sessions.
Mary Margaret has government experience on the federal and state levels. Prior to joining our firm, she was a staff attorney on the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals. In law school, she worked for two federal judges on the U.S. District Court. A former member of U.S. Senator Richard Shelby’s Washington D.C. staff, Mary Margaret was tapped to lead the state political strategy and outreach for Sen. Shelby’s 2016 primary reelection campaign.
Mary Margaret is actively involved in the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, serving in an advisory role with its Government Affairs Section. She was selected for the Alabama State Bar’s Leadership Forum in 2016, is involved in the state bar’s In-House Counsel and Government Lawyer Section and co-chairs the legislation subsection of the Government Affairs and Ethics Section. Additionally, she is part of the Amicus Curiae Advisory Committee for the Business Council of Alabama.
Mary Margaret is an advisory board member for the University of Alabama Department of Community Affairs and the Blackburn Institute. She volunteers with the Birmingham Children’s Theatre and the Montgomery YMCA.
She was named one of “30 Women Who Shape the State” by AL.com and Birmingham Magazine in November 2016.
